You're Telling Me

(Grabbed from jeff_morris) Studies show multitaskers are less efficient. Speaking as one who now works in multitasking hell, yeah, I know. I've gotten to the point where I frequently won't multitask, since if I do I will forget what I was in the middle of and not return for hours, at which point I have to re-do it all. It only took a few times of getting stuck on that particular hamster wheel before I decided that task-swapping was not being useful.

On a lighter note, went and saw X Games: The 3D Movie, which was just what the doctor ordered. I am so totally going to X next year. There's something magical about watching people with a conviction going out there and pushing through everything just to do their heart's desire. Especially (particularly?) when it's something so recreational as extreme action sports. It's not improving humanity or making tons of money (though I've seen the places the top guys have, so I won't say it's not profitable), it's just about getting out there and doing something just for the sheer joy of proving that one can do it. It's struggle and adventure and striving and proves that people can do anything they set their minds to.
