Lois This Weekend
So, Lois McMaster Bujold will be in town this weekend.

On Saturday she will be at Westercon from 11:30 to 3. There is a Q&A session, followed by an autograph session and then a pannel on what makes fantasy fantasy with a bunch of other guests (Tad Williams, Teresa Edgerton, and Diana Paxton.)

There are also two book signings, one in Mt. View and one in San Francisco:

*Friday, June 29, 2007
07:30 PM*
Books Inc. 301 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041-1205

*Saturday, June 30, 2007

Westercon, stalking Lois. Creeping softly through the bladed plains of fandom.

I’ll be at Westercon the whole weekend.

Yay! I am planning on only being there Saturday morning/afternoon, but I hope to see you for a bit. If not, we should get together for dinner or something sometime.

I’m on vacation next week, so my schedule is flexible.

I'll be at Westercon because of Lois. Congrats on finding out what she is doing at con.

I have a feeling you working = not getting to see much of you. Hopefully we'll be able to run into each other for a bit, though?

Since the point for me to be at Westercon is Lois, I am making sure I am free from 11-4pm on Sat. After that they strap a radio on me and I wonder around. That doesn't change much of what I typically do at con so we should have a good overlap.

I'm sick! *cries* And my mom is down with severe bronchitis, so even if I weren't sick myself, I'd be default for taking care of the boys in the evenings. But damn it, I did want to see Lois. *sniff* Mt View isn't too far away. Maybe I can bring the boys with me for a quick outing...? I'd also want to get my books out of storage to have another of the Vorkosigan books signed. Maybe ACC. Can you get a book signed that you already own, rather than one you buy at the store right then?

Which events are you planning to catch? Will you be headed for Mt View, as it's closest?
Sandpanthersandpanther on June 29th, 2007 05:02 am (UTC)
Noes! Now = bad time to be sick. :(

You should be able to bring books you own to be signed -- I always have and it's not a problem. Though... I thought you had ACC signed from when she was in town in 2002?

I'm going to the Mt. View signing, and then I'm planning on being at Westercon for the stuff on Saturday. I think the SF signing is a bit far -- particularly since I'm not dying to get more stuff signed. (Memory was the main one I cared about getting signed, and I got that signed in Oregon years ago.)

Huh, yeah, now that you mention it, I can't rmeember whether it was ACC or the book after that I had signed. All I remember is that I couldn't make it, and you were kind enough to take my book to be signed for me.

Yeah, bad time to be sick. :(

Yay! We can reprise our Orecon stalking -- only without the kidneys vibrating this time, hopefully!

I am so jealous of you right now. Can you get her to autograph a Vorkosigan book for me? Or a napkin? Or anything?
Sandpanthersandpanther on June 29th, 2007 05:00 am (UTC)
Sure, no problem. Preference on what book to get signed?

"A Civil Campaign" made me laugh the most of the whole series, which is saying a lot. Especially now that I'm a married fool myself.
