Dear DirectTV,

This is the second time in as many weeks my signal has mysteriously dropped. Knock it off. I don't want to go back to cable, but I will if you force me. (Okay, the main reason I would go back to cable is so I could drop PacBell/AT&T -- but the only reason I haven't so far is I actually like you.) And what is your beef with Heros? You seem bound and determined to make me miss it. I thought it a generally inoffensive -- and fairly entertaining -- program. So keep your editorial outages to yourself in the future.

Annoying "customer service" representative who gave me a ton of BS about the system being unavailable and then hung up on me? Consider another profession. This one is not for you. Trust me on this.

Sandy U8889, you win the gold star for the day for getting my signal back literally seconds before Heros started.

yeah.... for future reference, our call system likes to 'update' at 11pm cst on mondays and wednesdays, usually. we were told their changing over from windows to linux servers, but i know server migrations don't take three months. -_-

and every single call is recorded, tracked, and saved. so you could get that peson in trouble very easily. :D

You work for DirectTV? I didn't know that...

I sent a nastygram, and asked that they check my record for the call, listing the phone number of the account and the date and time. I'm usually nice to customer support people (I was one in a past life so I know how tough a job it is), but this chick really needed to pull her head out and maybe, I dunno, do the job. Or find another one. I don't care.

at the moment, unfortunately yes. until i get another IT position, i needed a job immediately to pay for my japan trip and dtv was easy and starts out at $9.50 for mindless work. which in this area is more than enough to live off of. that being said, we have a lot of fucking idiots that work there.

I guess they just don't like you.

In six years of service, I've never had a problem I didn't cause myself*.

*: Really, when you start messing around with HU card hacking, you're asking for it.

Dear Comcast,

Thank you for losing internet and cable feed an hour before superbowl kickoff.

Swearing at the tech, that if we lose our feed during the superbowl itself... we would cancel all our services in the next heartbeat.

I ditch Comcast after they accidentally disconnected my cable for two weeks. Turns out they had confused my place with the person downstairs who had just moved out. And completely ignored me when I mentioned it back at the beginning as something to look at.

Except for the recent problems DirectTV has been good to me.
