I've been watching a bunch of things lately.

Jan and I watched a lot of stuff over the Fourth of July weekend:

Onmyouji 1 & 2

Loved it. The first one made me want to see if there is more, and the second one made me glad there was. Highly scenic, lots of nifty stuff from history/legend/mythology. I can see why the slash fans like this. More of this would make me happy. (Those last two sentences are not as related as they might seem.)

The Invicibles

I liked this, it was fun. I like how it explores the relationship between superheros and villans. I was a little frustrated that they left the end so unresolved... What is the fate of our now-outed superheros? I suppose that this leaves it open-ended for a sequel. But to me it felt more like the writers did not feel like taking the trouble of coming up with a resolution, and so did a little hand-waving and punted.

The Mummy

Continuing with a highly scenic media weekend, this was, well, scenic. This is a fun movie, reminscent of the old serials. Though the curse involved still seems like a most odd one.

After looking over the schedules at two different anime conventions I have come to the conclusion that I really should try watch more anime. So, recently I watched:

Tsukihime, Lunar Legend

This was nice. Not the greatest thing I've ever seen, but engrossing enough. The first episode didn't grab me, but it grew steadily on me after that.

Ouran High School Host Club

I've only seen one episode, but this is highly entertaining. More episodes are downloading currently.

USA has started a new series, Psyched. Most entertaining, I highly recommend it.

And that's all for now.

Regarding Onmyouji... well, if you want more there's the novel series it's based on, and then there's also a TV series which I've not seen that came out before the movies. Different actors, though, I think. ^_^ But yes, much with the love.

Regarding The Invincibles... I didn't get the feeling that they were so much "outed" as actively choosing to resume the livestyle they'd had to leave behind.

And Ouran... ahh, another one to join our numbers. ^_^

There's also a manga adaptation by Okano Reiko, though it too diverges from the novels.

What's the tv series called?

Just "Onmyouji" as far as I can recall.

Did you watch the bloopers on The Incedibles?

I don't think so... I was really tired by that point, so I don't remember a whole lot. I know we watched one set of bloopers, but I don't remember which.
