Where It All Began

The cast has come down in quality these days. From Washington, Jefferson, and Paine we've devolved to George II, Rumsfeld, and Hannity. Not exactly masters of the ringing phrase or soaring oratory, any of that second group. In forty years, no one but historians or joke writers will still remember anything of what they said.

But Jefferson's prose is still...immortal.
