Catching Up

Well, it's been a while. I've been meaning to blog something, but work has been unexpectedly busy, and I've had a few projects at home taking up my time and attention.

So, that said, there have been a few changes. The first, obviously, is where this entry's being hosted. I finally decided to stop pretending that I could be uber-geek and get things figured out on Pitas, and just broke down and switched to somewhere where they would make adding comments easy for me. So, Rence, Maria -- *point* Look! You can leave comments.

I caught Signs last weekend. I am a huge fan of M. Night Shyalaman's work, and this one did not disappoint. I don't usually like scary films, but his are so exceptionally done, and skate so finely on the edge of being too scary for me. And I love his themes of self-discovery, and coming to an acceptance of one's self that always seem present in his movies. This one is supposed to be more of horror/suspense film than his previous ones. Oddly, I actually found parts of The Sixth Sense much scarier. So, while the film may at times be a little tense, I'd say it's a must-see.

While I'm reviewing new things from old favorites, I decided in a fit of impatience to pick up Move's latest album, "Syngergy". At first I wasn't sure if I liked it, since it's very different from their previous albums in some ways. But after listening to it several times, I've realized that it pulls in several different musical styles that I am highly fond of. So, I am very pleased with my purchase. ^_^
