Y'know, I think most of the folks in my department interpret my saying "if I understand you correctly..." to mean "I'm stupid and I don't understand" rather than "what you just said is completely ridiculous, but I'm going to repeat it back to you so you can verify that you did, indeed, mean to sprut nonsense." (Though if it is refering to what another person said it can mean "you clearly did not bother reading the e-mail. Here, let me summerize the key points so that your ignorance does not need to be spread any further.") It's very strange.


On a disturbing and unrelated note, one of my coworkers just told me that apparently there were two masked me in the parking lot at work today trying to commit armed robbery. This, on the one hand, encourages me even more to get a new job asap, and on the other hand does not make me terribly enthusiastic to go out to my car now -- and particularly not since I usually park in the farthest corner of the parking lot. *sigh* October cannot come soon enough in many ways.
