Meeting Madness
E-mail:

Subject: Invitation: Staff Meeting (May 6 09:00 AM PDT in XXX's office)
Body of the message: XXX would like to have a staff meeting at 100pm today

Clarification was requested on the exact time and date of the meeting. It was concluded that it is supposed to be at 1 PM today.

Conversation had at 1 PM today:

Me: Do you know where Boss Man is?

The Other VB Programmer: He's in XXX's office, in the meeting.

Me: ... Aren't we supposed to be in that meeting?

TOVBP: *glares* Someone had a miscommunication.

So my boss sent out an e-mail invite to a meeting where the time and date put in the body of the message conflicted with the time and date in the subject line -- but it turns out that we weren't actually invited to the meeting at all.

I am left with a deep and abiding sense of "huh??"
