Note to Self: Think Bigger

Interesting article off of Yahoo on self-made millionaires: "The biggest obstacle to wealth is fear. People are afraid to think big, but if you think small, you’ll only achieve small things."

I was chatting my my dad the other day, and he pointed out there's a family tradition of being retired at 55. I'd always assumed that I'd be doing the 8-5 grind until I was 70. Now, I'm looking at being out of it in my early 50's. Not saying I'm not going to be doing things that make money. Just saying I'm not doing this working for stupid companies thing for that much longer.

"Somebody get a can opener. I've got a god stuck in my head."

Finished The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan (of Percy Jackson and the Olympians fame.) Similar setup to the Percy Jackson books, only this time he tackles Egyptian mythology. Fun, and worth reading if only for the quote in the subject line and Anubis, though the story as a whole works well. I roll better on my "recognize mythology" for Egyptian than I do, say, Hindu, where I barely remember the names of the gods, or Aztec, where I can't even pronounce the names of the gods. But I don't know it skin-deep the way I do Greek, so I know there were a bunch of in jokes I missed. But it was still fun nonetheless.
