My Widdle Bwain

Scale and Perspective

The thing about having worked as a systems administrator at eBay is that I tend to giggle when reading job postings that say "must be able to manage environments supporting at least 3000 users and at least 30 servers." I used to deploy 30 servers at a shot -- and that wasn't a particularly large build.

Serendipity

While pondering updating my references lists I decided to see if I couldn't track down one of my former coworkers. (The Princess, for those who remember five years or so ago.) I managed to find someone on LinkedIn who looked likely, so I dropped her a note yesterday.

I saw today that I had a note back from her saying "happy birthday". I was really impressed that she remembered when my birthday is -- until I (feeling like a goof) remembered that she and I share a birthday.

How was that for random serendipity?
