My Widdle Bwain

I Haz Dirt And CDs

Thanks to help from rhylar and his lovely wife, I have loads of lovely compost. It obviously has lots of active somethings in it, since when I was shoveling it I could feel the heat from a couple of feet away. The garbage bag full of the stuff was still snuggly warm even after we got it home. Tomorrow I intend to get to spreading some of the stuff around my yard and putting plants in it. I'm thinking the plants should really groove on this stuff.

(Okay, "snuggly warm" is probably not a happy mental image when talking about compost.)

While on a binge of random garage cleaning I found not one but two CDs that I've been looking for. One of them I've been looking for for a very long time -- long enough that I thought I'd bought a new copy when I was in Japan a couple of years ago, and then promptly lost that copy as well. (This CD clearly has issues staying under my control.) I've ripped it to my computer and copied it to my MP3 player, so hopefully today ends the days of not being able to listen to this CD. I've really missed it.

So all in all, a very good day.

Best Thing About The Weekend

No headlines screaming about what the stock market's doing this minute.

I'm hoping that soon the Chicken Littles on Wall Street and in the mass media become as completely tired of listening to the daily "The sky is falling/no, maybe it's not" insanity as I have -- or at least maybe the media will find a new shiny toy to endless post on. (Or maybe not... the news feeds on drama and misery, and I'm not sure I'm so eager to have them find new drama and misery after all.)
