Intaanetto, Yo~~~~i!

Finally got internet working. No wi-fi to leech at the hotel, alas. Miako-net does still operate, though I have to track out to Keage to activate it. And my last day of connectivity will be Nov. 30. Alas.

Shopping so far has been teh suck. I forget how bad Kyoto is for such things. No Spiral calendar at Animate. Surprisingly, no Death Note calendar either. (WTF??) And toku stuff? Yeah, you can totally forget that noise. My best luck so far has been at a bookstore that is so grown-up that it didn't even have a manga section. So I guess I will be ordering calendars when I get back.

swtjemz, funny you should mention the Teppei photo book. I just saw it yesterday and was wondering if I should pick it up or not. I'll see if I get out to that area again (I expect to), and will pick it up for you if I do. They had two Win-s books also, though I don't remember the details on them. (And I assume you have them already.)

seshat, where the heck is that bookstore you recommend? (Maruzen?) I know it's on Kawaramachi between Shijou and Sanjou, but I can't for the life of me find where.

hoshikage, did you get the Moebius film book? If so, could you describe it? I found something related to it, but it wasn't exactly what I was thinking of... It's got a yellow cover, and has a manga bit in the middle. I'm tryign to figure out if I've got all there is, or if I should be flailing around looking for other things. (Like the Mirai photo book that I read about... WANT!)

Okay, that's all for this post. Next post will be marginally more coherent.

The Trip So Far

Two notes:

Figured out part of why I love coming to Japan so much. This place is one long string of eye candy. Pretty temples, pretty gardens. Lovely cars I can't see at home. (Okay, except for the Ferarri I spotted yesterday and again today.) And Japanese guys? Mmm. Sitting on the subway is like walking down the street. I just wait a while and a pretty goes by and I go "oooh!" I like.

Note two: I forget. This space left intentionally blank.

Ultraman Moebius Song Lyrics

As I said before, I picked up a CD with a couple of songs from Moebius. (Not the soundtrack, I haven't been able to find that yet -- no, not even at Animate. Suck.)

The picture in the background of the CD insert with the lyrics is a most unfortunate pose. Particularly for a song that includes "one two rise up" repeatedly. Jan has had some fun with this.

Both songs are sung by Project DMM with Ultra Boueitai (Hayata, Hibino Mirai, Haruno Musashi, Fuji Akiko, Maniyome Jun, Go Hideki, Ide, Hiraki Shiori, Touma Kaito, Yuri Annu, and Hokuto Seiji) I'll eventually get to figuring out who is where from what sometime when I'm not freezing to get my internet connection. (And I don't have a ton of other things to look up in the mean time...)

Fangirl, Yo! Comments on "Kokyou no nai Otoko"

Er, providing that is even the title... Difficult to remember, since seeing stuff live means no pausing and not rewinding.

Randomly, Animate confirms the movie will be out 1/26. It also lists a price: 8150 yen. *gasp* This better be one really freaking long, awesome movie. The Kabuto movie (which is out at about the same time) is only 4950 yen.

sakon76, you are going to make with the happy dance with this episode, since it gives heavy credence to your thought that "nii-san" is more in the "brothers in arms" than in the "blood relation".

Episode is low on the technobabble.
