Guillotine Guy totally rocks. Presenting projects to him does feel faintly like playing soccar with an anvil. But at least he has a clue. And (hee, hee, hee) the very first comment he made on the project was to tell me to remove the stupid design I did to accomodate the existing stupid design and do it the right way. Rock on! Boss above my boss actually has a clue, and gives official approval to Do It The Right Way. Me is pleased.
(This does not, of course, mean that I intend to stay! But it is nice working with sane people a little, sort of to ease me back into what it's like working with them. I had rather forgotten.)
Oh, Happy Godzilla got back to me on the position I interviewed for. He seemed genuinely unhappy that I wasn't a good match for it at this time, and pretty much came out and said that he's leaning on Bitchy Boss Lady to try and get me involved with helping out on the Japanese side of the project. As always, I hold out no expectations. But it's nice to know someone around here doesn't think I'm a complete idiot. (Well, two, actually. Guillotine Guy liked my work, too.)
