Counting Fail, Tact Fail
A tweet was pointed out to me that said "If you wanna feel better about this earthquake in Japan, google 'Pearl Harbor death toll.'"

Okay, I'm game.

Let me Google that for you.
Wikipedia says "The overall death toll reached 2350..."

So on the recent earthquake...
Let me Google the Japan earthquake death toll for you.
Wikipedia says "The Japanese National Police Agency has officially confirmed 4,314 deaths, ... and 8,606 people missing."

*tilts head* I'm afraid I don't see his point. More dead people doesn't make me feel any better about lots of dead people. Though I'll confess I'm still having trouble trying to wrap my head around 3,000 people missing in just one city alone, so maybe I'm just thick.

I'm
afraid I don't understand his logic at all- no, make that I have no interest in understanding his bigoted irrationality. A nation that's been one of our strongest allies for 60 years and he thinks a war that's long since over justifies his hatred? Based on this a German looking at the New Orleans disaster could shrug and say "Dresden". I really don't think the world needs to hang onto old conflicts that have long since been resolved.
